About Roundabout Sheffield Emergency Accomodation

Recruitment Monitoring Form

Our emergency accommodation is a welcoming home for 19 individuals aged 16 to 21, who find themselves without a safe place to live.

Each resident at this project has their own fully furnished bedroom, along with their own en-suite. We offer safe and comfortable accommodation for young people who need some support at a difficult time in their life. The length of stay depends on what’s best for each person, but we’re here for up to 12 months if that’s what they need.

When someone joins us, they’re paired with a support worker who will help them on their journey. Together, they create a personalised ‘Strength-based approach’ assessment, figuring out where support is needed and setting goals to work towards.

While staying with us, residents get the chance to learn vital life skills, boost their independence, explore job or training opportunities, and build up their confidence and self-esteem.

Our key workers lead engaging life-skills sessions, from cooking and cleaning to budgeting, equipping these young people with everything they need to manage their own homes in the future and achieve the dreams they’ve set for themselves. We aim to provide young people with the skills and knowledge necessary to maintain their own tenancy and meet the specific goals outlined in their goals and future plans.

Once young people show signs of progress, they are offered the chance to move into a self-contained flat in the same building. Residents have the same support provision as those who live in the main project, but they will have started or are working towards some form of education, training or employment.

The flats are a vital ‘stepping stone’ for these young people, allowing them to practice living independently whilst still having support available, should they need it. We want to help young people prepare for independent living as much as possible, equipping them with the skills they need to break the cycle of homelessness.
