Thanks to them, for me as a person things really have changed – I have a lot more patience with my family and there isn’t as much pressure.

Today, at just 19 years old, Lydia has her own flat and is living independently as she looks forward to her degree course beginning at Sheffield Hallam University.

I’m going to get some more qualifications under my belt too and I’m waiting to start another course now but it’s real work I want and I’m not choosy – a job’s a job!
