Pat on the back for our new Patron !

Well done to our new Patron, Paul Scriven, for running the Great Yorkshire Run last Sunday on behalf of Roundabout.

We invited Paul to become our Patron because of the interest and passion he had shown for the work we do,  in his time as Leader of Sheffield City Council.

Paul’s first contact with Roundabout was at a community consultation event where a group of young people from our hostel were enthusiastically having their say. Following this first encounter, Paul took the time to come and visit Roundabout on several occasions.

Paul says  “As Leader of the Council I was introduced to many charities but Roundabout was the one that grabbed my attention and I have a personal attachment to the charity, as the issues facing these young people could happen to anyone.”

“Youth homelessness is very real in Sheffield and meeting the staff and young people at Roundabout instantly confirmed for me that this was the charity I wanted to get involved with. The run is just the start.”

Paul has raised nearly £300 from the run, but there is still time to donate more at our JustGiving page http://www.justgiving.com/roundaboutltd/Donate
